Since my return from Florida, I’ve noticed an increasing tendency toward the nocturnal. Lately I’ve been falling asleep around 4 a.m. and waking a bit before 2 p.m. Last night I decided that the only way to break this habit is to stay awake around the clock, in the hope that I’ll be able to fall asleep after going to bed at a more normal hour this coming evening. In the meantime, I’ll just have to put up with the clumsiness, jitters, and faint queasiness that spring from the lack of sleep.
